Adopt-a-District

New Jersey Representatives

"I urge that entreaties and prayers, petitions and thanksgivings, be made on behalf of all men, for kings and all who are in authority, in order that we may lead a tranquil and quiet life..." (1 Timothy 2:1-2)

"Remind them to be subject to rulers, to authorities, to be obedient, to be ready for every good deed, to malign no one, to be peaceable, gentle, showing every consideration for all men." (Titus 3:1-2)

Adopt-a-District is about prayer.  It is holding up leaders in our state and praying for him/her and their family.  It means praying for their safety and protection; for mentors who can hold them accountable; for wisdom and compassion in making decisions; for courage in the face of adversity and for integrity and righteousness.  Now more than ever, our country's leaders need your encouragement, your interaction and your prayers.  We know it is tempting to criticize our leaders, but there is something far more significant and effective we can do to make a lasting impact on them.  We can pray.

When a church family adopts-a-district they are committing to reaching out to all three of their state representatives.  Notes, phone calls, invitations to visit the church are only some of the ways a church family might reach out to their state representatives with the love of Jesus.

Should you believe God is calling you to adopt-a-district or a legislator please send your request in writing with a letter of support from your pastor to: Pray NJ; PO Box 246, Oak Ridge, NJ 07438 or e-mail your request and letter of support to  Tangela Lane - TDLPRAY4U@aol.com or call her at 856-342-8045.
