Click on a county name for event information and to email the county coordinator for more information Back to topOur prayer time here in Atlantic County was mighty and powerful in the Spirit. There were four prayer warriors present, which included another congregation in our county. We began with worship and God's presence filled the room. Our leading came from the structure provided by NDP. We read the prayer written by Max Lucado and then began to pray with regard to each area of society. There was a strong need to repent for our behavior as a nation and ask God for mercy on us. We cried together and felt the river of mercy in the room. Then we began to ask for the God's help in all the specific areas, media, education etc. Declaring and decreeing the promises of God over our Nation. Buena Vista - 7 PM -Town Hall - Contact: Rev. The format for this event was open mike prayer and worship throughout the duration of the program including praise dancers. We incorporated our youth by giving an essay topic what God Shed His Grace means to me. Two students were chosen to read their poem/essay and they were excellent. Cherry Hill - 4:30 pm to 6:30 pm - Children's Prayer Walk - Covenant Presbyterian Church - contact: Susie Field at susieandderek@hotmail.com Children's Prayer
Walk-- at Covenant Presbyterian Church in Cherry Hill, turned out
wonderfully. It was obvious that we had people praying for it all
over. Approximately 140 children came, not to mention all the
mothers, fathers, grandparents and babysitters. They all had a
wonderful time. We had our Youth Group band playing and singing
throughout, also face painters, a clown who made balloon animals and
hats, and hot dogs, popcorn, drinks and desserts. The community
representatives were eager to come back again this year (our third
year doing this). We had the following participate: fire dept,
police dept, EMT's, Mayor Bernie Platt, military, doctors, nurses,
teachers, pastors, representatives from a nursing home, missionaries,
farmer, construction worker, letter carrier, and a school bus driver.
We even had a life size cardboard cut out of President George Bush at
one of the stations. The kids went to each station and prayed for
them. All the reps brought either their vehicles or other visuals
aids and goodies for the children. The children once again went home
with many goodies, but most importantly they took a prayer booklet
home with them with scripture and prayers for each of these people.
It also has a calendar so that each day they can pray for someone in
our community, nation or world. It was once again a great hit with
the kids and so many people worked very hard to make it all go so
smoothly! What a beautiful day it was! Haddonfield - 12:20 pm to 12:40 pm - Haddonfield's King Court, on Kings Hwy - contact: Mr. & Mrs. Leblace, 856-428-5143 Sicklerville - 7:30 am - New Brooklyn Park, hosted by The Community Revival Prayer group Bridgeton - 12 noon - Salvation Army, 28 W.

The Essex County Courts Choir, God's Glory Ministry Praise Team, and St. Paul Sounds of Praise Choir lead us before the throne of Grace where we were able to boldly intercede for our government, judiciary, media, church, families, and schools. Harrison - 7 am - at Pleasant Valley School
Mullica Hill - Part of Harrison Township As a part of the National Day of Prayer Committee in Mullica Hill, a group of moms that meet monthly to pray for our schools, planned several activities centered around the schools. On Monday, May 2nd, we dropped off fliers in the Harrison Township School and the Pleasant Valley School, that had already been approved by the Superintendent, which invited students and parents to join us for "See You at the Pole" at specific times at each school, and then the "Let's Pray and Play" after school program at Harrison Township School on May 5th. On the day of NDP, we met at 3:20 for the after school program, of which about 180 students were present, which turned out to be very fun while at the same time, quite crazy at times. Everyone had a really great time having a quick snack, playing games and of course, praying. My husband dressed up like President Bush and he talked with the children and we prayed for the president. We had lots of prizes and goodie bags for everyone. Praise and thanks be to God for the atmosphere of warmth and unity as the pastors and ministry leaders gathered and greeted one another. Fourteen individuals led the group in either song, Scripture reading or prayer. These leaders represented eight different Parsippany churches. In the evening a smaller gathering of about 20 people met for a time of worship and prayer. There was a sense of the Presence of God at this meeting. Many individuals were able to offer their prayers to God centering around the five topics chosen beforehand. These topics included needs in our nation as well as around the world. Several people commented about what a special time it was. Rockaway Township - 12 noon - Rotary Memorial Gazebo on Park
Lane - About 50 people attended this gathering. A local parochial school and six clergy were among those who attended. Succasunna - 12 noon - Horseshoe Lake Pavilion, Eyland Ave. This event has grown over the years that I have been involved, to the point that I believe there were over 200 in attendance at this year's event. Also, it was good to see so many of our students in attendance. Some of the youth from our High School led in parts of this year's service. This event was well prayed over, and well executed. Thank you Lord! There is hope for our nation if we will continue to seek the Lord and pray! (See 2 Chronicles 7:14). Ocean Back to top Lakewood -

Barbara Diblin, (609) 758-3065 Jackson - We had our annual NDP gathering at our Town Hall with the mayor reading a proclamation declaring a day of prayer in Jackson. Before he read the proclamation he spoke impromptu and gave thanks to all who came to the meeting. He noted that it seems to be growing each year and he exhorted us saying how important prayer is for all of us. We had about 100 people present and prayers were led by the many of the clergy in town. The praise band from St. Al's Catholic Church did the music and it was wonderful. We had the blowing of the Shofar and the Aaron Benediction at the end. All in all it was a wonderful meeting. This in from Rev. Lydia: This is our 5th year doing the national day of
prayer in Prospect Park Paterson - 12:00 noon - Paterson City Hall - Contact: Rev. Carolyn McCombs 973-247-9898, carolyn.mccombs@verizon.net About 15 pastors from the city gathered on the city steps to lead prayer for the people who gathered to pray in front of city hall. There was an atmosphere of hope and a passion clearly expressed for the Lord Jesus Christ. It is difficult to estimate the numbers of people in attendance as passers by came and went. I think it is fair to say 25 people participated and likely another 50 heard the prayers of the saints. Prayer started off with 240 in attendance at the Sharptown Methodist
Church at a prayer breakfast sponsored by several major Corporations and
the local newspaper. It was powerful and very humbling to see so many
prominent men and women humble themselves and pray to our Father about our
community. I watch this event grow every year and all I do is report what
the Lord is doing. Somerset Back to top Hillsborough - 7:00 am - Ann Van Middelsworth
Park We didn't take a count but I would guess about 125-150 people. Because of the holy day for Catholics, I think we didn't get some of those friends. But the Spirit of the Lord was with us. The Lord granted good weather, albeit a little chilly. Our Worship Team led us in meaningful choruses of praise. Our clergy led us in powerful prayers asking for God's forgiveness upon us, the church, and our nation. It was very moving. We were challenged to pray each day on the five points of prayer. A Jewish Christian spoke and prayed during the Open Mike time and we were blessed by her testimony and prayer. We prayed for Israel and the nations of the world. Only two or three protesters showed up this year and they were respectful. One of our participants later thanked them for coming and for being respectful. They were surprised. A good amount of non-perishable food items was collected for our local food center for the homeless (S.H.I.P.) and we raised $300 for them in a freewill offering. God be praised for it all! New Providence - Dinner at 6 pm - Prayer Service 7 pm - New Providence Presbyterian Church, Contact info: Call 908-665-0050, Nancy Vandermeer 150 people attended a Community Prayer and Praise service at 7PM * A highlight was the opportunity to pray for those in our area who are serving in the Military. 14 relatives came up front, shared the name of their loved one and stood in their place. The man who prayed is a church Elder and has a brother who is a Chaplain serving in Iraq. It was very powerful. * Since the Broadcast was canceled we offered prayer huddles for 4 major areas for people who wanted to pray more specifically by name. About 30 people huddled for 30 minutes. We liked the intimacy of that time. * We gear some of this to children and have the Boy Scouts present the colors and lead the Pledge. It is wonderful to see kids singing Patriotic songs. If not for this where would they sing them other than a baseball game? * Loved the 30 second PSA Spot and used it several times including that evening before the Welcome. Also uses the special Song and Video. Great photos and words. Loved the theme, graphics. Even purchased the preprinted bulletin covers thru Colorado. Plainfield - 9 am - Prayer Breakfast at Christian
Fellowship Baptist Church, 255 Johnston
Avenue Roselle - 6:00 PM - prayer walk - Heard AME Church, 310 East 8th Ave. - concluding at Roselle Borough Hall, 210 Chestnut St. at 7 PM
- Contact: Over ninety people came out for the annual prayer walk including pastors, church members, and families with children. This year four new pastors joined us along with the Fire Chief , municipal council members, borough government employees, families from neighboring towns, and members of the one county prayer networks. One pastor was going out of town and changed his flight at the last minute to be in town for the prayer walk. It was wonderful to see our community come together and pray for past hurts and stand united in prayer for our elected officials and for Gods will to be done in our upcoming elections.
Our mayor expressed that our town needs prayer and that Roselle needs to have a prayer walk every month. He was moved to make a request of the pastors he meets with monthly to begin to pray on a regular ongoing basis for our town. Special thanks and appreciation go to the Roselle Police Department, Mae Place for donating red carnations for all the ladies in attendance, and the Board of Education for setting up and operating the PA system.
