America, Unite in Prayer
If My people will humble themselves and pray and seek My face and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven, forgive their sin and heal their land. 2 Chron. 7:14 National Day of Prayer May 3, 2007 Governor Corzine's Proclamation 2006

National Days of Prayer have been a part of our history since the First Continental Congress called for a National Day of Prayer in 1775 as they sought divine guidance in the formation of our nation. Congress first mandated the Annual National Day of Prayer in 1952 under President Truman. In 1988, President Ronald Reagan signed the amended law to standardize the day on the first Thursday in May each year. Governor Whitman of the State of New Jersey signed the NJ Day of Prayer Bill into law in 1994 "designating the first Thursday in May each year as "A Day of Prayer in New Jersey." The New Jersey State Coordinator is Mrs. Glenn Wenzel (Patricia). You may reach the NJ Day of Prayer by calling 1-888-NJ Prayer or through e-mail patricia@praynj.org.
