NJ Day of Prayer Volunteer Coordinator Qualifications
Commitment to Christ - A volunteer must be a Christian who has a personal relationship with Christ.
Commitment to the local church -The church should be your first priority in ministry outside the home. We ask volunteers not to support National Day of Prayer until their obligations to the local church have been met.
Commitment to the National Day of Prayer - Our mission is to provide resources for any religious group to participate in or plan events related to the National Day of Prayer. If people of other faiths wish to celebrate in their own tradition, they are welcome to do so. However, our expression is specifically limited to the Judeo-Christian heritage.
Commitment of time - The amount of time required will vary greatly depending on the activity in your area and the number of volunteers who report to you. Although this requires a year-long commitment, the months immediately proceeding the National Day of Prayer will be the most demanding.
Commitment to Christian lifestyle - A National Day of Prayer volunteer must be a representative of Christ in both public and private life, which includes; maturity, emotional stability, healthy interpersonal relations, financial responsibility and a stable living situation.
Commitment to teamwork and assigned duties - A volunteer must be willing to cooperate with the National Day of Prayer Task Force and the NJ Day of Prayer Task Force and be responsible for agreed upon time tasks and schedule.
Commitment to be a "true" volunteer - A volunteer must understand and agree that their motivation for volunteering is to advance the cause of Christ without any expectation of pay, special recognition, employment or other compensation.
Complete application to be a volunteer coordinator- All volunteers are to fill out an application and send it to The National Day of Prayer Task Force and a copy to The NJ State Coordinator. (form available at www.ndptf.org).
